I re-visited Ferrybridge again this morning in a further bid to photograph juvenile Mediterranean Gulls. This is a new project for me, the aim being to get some pictures of birds before they had changed very far into 1st winter plumage.
Bird 1: juvenile Mediterranean Gull, Ferrybridge, Portland - August 11th 2013
Bird 1: several scapulars moulted / missing
Bird 2: has several scapulars missing & some replaced with 2nd generation grey ones
Bird 2: some outer median and lesser covert moult is underway
and finally here is a shot of my birding neighbour, 'Seamist' Pete in action with his camera at Chesil Beach, Ferrybridge, today.
