A rare morning away from Portland today saw Jon and I across the county at Lytchett Matravers enjoying the 27 Waxwings that have been there for a few days. We followed this with a brief excursion to Blashford Lakes, near Ringwood, Hampshire, where we had brief but close views of a Great White Egret, and an exceptional encounter with Bittern.
